OYS, Inc. is committed to providing opportunities for all committed musicians, regardless of background or financial means. The resources on this page can be used to apply for financial aid to cover some or all of the costs related to participating in OYS, Inc.

Tuition Assistance

This scholarship is awarded solely based on financial need and may be used only to cover tuition costs of OYS, Inc. As many requests will be honored each year as budgetary restrictions allow. The application requires a copy of the previous year's tax return as well as a statement of need. A new scholarship application should submitted each season as needed.

Private Instruction Assistance

This scholarship is awarded solely based on financial need and may be used only to cover costs of private lessons for OYS musicians on the student's OYS instrument(s). As many requests will be honored each year as budgetary restrictions allow. The application requires a copy of the previous year's tax return as well as a statement of need. A new scholarship application should submitted each season as needed.

Jim Dorschner Legacy Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to continue a spirit, dedication, teaching and love of music in Jim Dorschner’s honor. It is open to all OYS musicians performing on a "band instrument(s)" and reimburses the cost of private tuition on that instrument. This is not a needs-based scholarship and is open to all students satisfying the other requirements.
